Investments by companies in industry; expectation and realisation
Description
This table provides data on the investment expectations and realisations of companies in industry. The data are the result of a sample survey that CBS conducts annually among companies in the industry. This measurement will be carried out in February. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) asks companies in this sector about their investment expectations for the current calendar year and the achievements for the previous year. The statistics ‘Investments; expectations and achievements’ are produced with co-financing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
The level of investment fluctuates greatly over time. Investment expectations can also be subject to fluctuations. For example, companies can adjust their expectations during the year because they decide to cancel, postpone or accelerate investment projects. In addition, the date of delivery of the tangible fixed assets may shift. The data is available by industry sector.

The data collected for publication in May 2020 are partial (about three quarters) from before 12 March.
12 March is the tipping point for the COVID-19 pandemic measures.
Given the impact of this, based on additional demand and the response from after 12 March, the dates before 12 March have been corrected.
Status of figures:
All figures on the forecasts for 2013 to 2024 are final. The figures on the achievements from 2013 to 2022 are final and those for 2023 are further provisional.
Changes as of 5 June 2024:
The dates for the realization of 2022 have been adjusted to further final, the provisional dates of the realization 2023 and the expectations 2024 have been added.
SBI codes 06 to 09 and B, D, E and F with underlying codes have been added.
