Ancient Relics (Register of Ancient Relics)
Description
The material contains location and characteristics data on fixed ancient relics protected under the Antiquities Act of 17 June 1963/295 in the register of ancient monuments maintained by the National Board of Antiquities. In addition to point-like information, some of the objects have a digitised regional demarcation. The regional demarcation describes the extent of the ancient relic based on current research data. The restriction may change as research data accumulates.
The area demarcation of ancient relics means that the boundaries of the area have been defined in the field inspection, i.e. by observing on-site and exploiting old map material, whereas a point-like ancient relic may include, for example, information that it has an old place of residence but the area has not yet been defined.
