REDIAM. WMS Water Transparency Data (m) covering the lower course of the Guadalquivir River, measured by Secchi disk (2009-2010)

Description

WMS service corresponding to the set of water transparency images (Secchi disk meters) that cover the lower course of the Guadalquivir River, from the municipality of Alcolea del Río to its mouth. Data obtained from geometrically and atmospherically corrected images of the Landsat 5 satellite captured by the TM (Thematic Mapper) sensor during the period 2009 to 2010. With the measurement of this parameter, the depth of light penetration in the water is obtained, a depth that is determined by the amount of matter, both suspended and dissolved, present in the water. The measurement of the transparency of the water column is important to identify the optimal areas for the development of photosynthetic activity and therefore of aquatic life.
