Flooding – Average Highest Groundwater Levels Current (2017)
Description
This map shows the GHG results for current climate; full of the Average Highest Groundwater Levels (GHG) of the National Water Model (results September 2017). The groundwater levels have been finely visualised with the Current Height Stock Netherlands, version 3 (AHN3). The result is a visualisation of the groundwater levels (meters below ground level) at 0.25 m², in which local altitudes become visible.
Construction
Broadly speaking, the build-up of the cards is as follows:
— Use of grid with calculation result for current climate (National Water Model, resolution 250 by 250 meters);
— Spatial interpolation of these results for the creation of smooth transitions between the computational cells of the NWM;
— Machining with the AHN3 (resolution 0.5 by 0.5 m) to groundwater levels under ground level
