Description

Currently, the general physico-chemical parameters (ACP) in 72 water bodies and the river basin-specific pollutants in 73 water bodies are being investigated. River basin specific pollutants and ACP are used to support the assessment of the ecological status of the lakes. As part of the chemical monitoring for the WFD, a representative measuring point is sampled per lake, which is usually at the lowest point. The ACP total phosphorus concentration and visual depth are assessed at the lakes on the basis of so-called orientation values. As a rule, they serve to check the plausibility of the evaluation on the basis of the biological quality components. The river basin specific pollutants refer to both the water phase and the sediment. They go into the assessment of the ecological status according to the one out all out principle. If an environmental quality standard is exceeded, the ecological status can therefore be at most moderate.
