New walkways (WMS service)
Description
The foot traffic strategy of the state capital Dresden (V1338/21) was adopted by the city council on 25 June 2022.
The aim of this strategy is to promote foot traffic and increase its importance through high-quality foot traffic facilities and attractively designed public spaces, as well as to increase road safety for road users on foot.
It includes, among other things, the technical concept for the construction of new (road-accompanying) sidewalks.
The new sidewalks are sidewalks that do not yet exist on either side of a road or on one side and are to be supplemented depending on the location and conditions.
The measures of the concept are assigned to one of four priorities. In line with their prioritisation, the measures under Priority 1 to 3 are to be implemented gradually. Priority 4 measures were identified in the participatory process, but the city administration currently sees no need for action.
Measures of the concept that have already been implemented are also presented.
