Groundwater protection zones

Description

The protection zones around the drinking water abstractions (Aalsterweg/Klotputten and Welschap) in Eindhoven are part of this data. These are laid down in the Provincial Environmental Ordinance (PMV). The PMV lays down conditions for working within protected areas. These conditions are aimed at protecting drinking water abstractions from potential contaminants. There are 3 zones: water catchment areas, 25-year zone and the drilling-free zone. Different protection regimes apply within the different zones. Where the strictest regime applies to the water extraction area, descending to the drilling-free zone where the least strict regime applies. The province is the competent authority to grant an exemption for working in the protection zones. For publication we use the GIS service of the Province of North Brabant.
