Wholesale companies; turnover Development, 2003-2008, SBI '93
Description
This table provides information on quarterly turnover trends
in the wholesale and commercial intermediation sector. The results are
expressed in indices based on the year 2005, in
development rates and cumulative development rates. The
data can be broken down by industry. The sbi’s are 511.
(Trade mediation) and 519 (Other specialised wholesalers)
and wholesalers with a general range) not separately in the table
recorded. This is because of the lack of (reliable) figures. The
development of SBI 51 (Wholesaling and Trade Intermediation) is
includes the SBIs 511 and 519.

Status of the figures:
All figures are final.
Amendments as of 1 October 2009:
Through met information and retyping of companies, a number of
indices corrected. These are the branches:
— Wholesale trade and brokerage services (sbi 51) for the first and
third quarter of 2007 and the first to fourth quarters of
2008;
— Wholesale trade of agricultural products and live animals (sbi 512) for
the first and third quarters of 2007 and the first to
fourth quarter of 2008;
— Wholesale trade of food and tobacco products (sbi 513) for the second
and third quarter of 2007 and the first to the fourth
quarter of 2008;
— Wholesale trade services of other consumer articles (sbi 514) for the third party
and fourth quarter of 2008;
— Wholesale of intermediate goods (not agricultural), waste and
scrap (SBI 515) for the first to fourth quarters
from 2008;
— Wholesale trade services of machinery, apparatus and accessories (sbi 518) for the purpose of
second and fourth quarters of 2008.
As a result, the corresponding (cumulative) turnover developments are
customised. Especially for sbi 515 this has led to an adjustment,
in a downward direction.
This table was discontinued at the end of 2008. The statistical survey carried out by
the basis of the results in this table is as follows:
a major change has been made in January 2009. The Standard
CBS Business Classification (SBI) has been drastically revised. That is why they are
figures from 2009 onwards are no longer comparable to previous years. The
CBS has therefore released a new table. For more information, see
paragraphs 3 and 4.
