Description
This table provides information on the four-weekly development of the
turnover of supermarkets. Because of the financial reporting in the
supermarket industry is often based on periods of four weeks, is there
there is a lot of demand from this industry for data on developments in this sector.

Developments are expressed in indices (based on the year)

Status of the figures:
All figures are final.
Amendments as of 29 May 2009:
This table stopped per week 49-52 of 2008. As from 2009, the statistical survey, which forms the basis of the results of this table, has undergone two major changes.
— First, the basis for indices has shifted from 2000 to 2008.
— Second, CBS’s Standard Business Classification (SBI) has been drastically revised.
As a result, the figures from 2009 onwards are no longer comparable to previous years.
CBS therefore publishes a new table. For more information, see paragraphs 3 and 4.
