Retail trade; turnover Development, 2000-2012
Description
This table provides information on the turnover growth of the retail sector. The turnover can be broken down by value, price and volume. The data can be further subdivided into a number of branches according to CBS’s 2008 Standard Business Classification.
The results are expressed in indices based on the year 2005. The trend has also been indicated in relation to the same period of the previous year. Some industries lack (temporarily) value and/or
price and volume data because the information is considered insufficiently reliable.

The figures for the last four months are provisional, the remaining final.

This table was discontinued as of 20 March 2013 and continued as "Retail; turnover development, index 2010 = 100’.

Changes as of 4 August 2010:
Further investigation has shown that the reliability margins for the turnover of a number of publication groups in the retail sector are too high. As of January 2009, the results of the following groups will no longer be published:
4721 vegetable shops
4722 Butchers and Poeliers
4764 Shops in leisure items
47641 Shops in bicycles and mopeds
47762 Garden centres
4777 Jewelers
47782 Shops in optical items
When will there be new figures?
This table was discontinued as of 20 March 2013. As from the date of publication of the first reporting period of 2013, the statistical study which forms the basis of the results in this table has undergone a significant change: In 2013, the weighting factors changed from reference year 2005 to 2010 (2010 = 100) and the weighting factors were updated and based on the year 2010. When calculating indices, the weighting factors reflect the share by which the underlying outcomes count in a publication group. CBS has released a new table due to these changes. For more information, see paragraphs 3 and 4.
