Unaccompanied foreign minor; nationality, gender and age
Description
This table contains figures on the number of asylum applications lodged by unaccompanied minor aliens (AMV). Figures are broken down by gender, age and nationality.
If an AMV needs protection, he or she is eligible for an asylum permit. If protection is not required, the AMR must be returned to the country of origin. This is only possible if the AMV can be properly received in the country of origin, for example by family or in a shelter. AMVs under 15 years of age who are unable to return to their country of origin may be granted an over-indebtedness permit under certain conditions.

The figures in this table are final, with the exception of 2023.
