Relief classification index (10 m grid data)
Description
The Terrain Classification Index (TCIlow) is a dimensionless index in the range of 0-2. It inflates the slightest height differences, especially in depth ranges. Even with the slightest differences in relief, channels and shallow sinks become recognizable. In the vicinity of anthropogenic structures such as dikes, dams or heaps, remains or artifacts can falsify the values. The relief classification index TCIlow is based on the 10m generalized digital elevation model of Lower Saxony (DGM1) and is calculated from the complex relief parameters height over depth line, catchment area size and modified soil moisture index (BOCK, BÖHNER, CONRAD, KÖTHE & RINGELER (2007)).
