Description

This table contains data on the well-being of the population of the Netherlands aged 18 years or older in terms of happiness and satisfaction with life. These topics are broken down by the highest educational attainment level and some employment-related characteristics, namely socio-economic category and main source of household income. In addition, it is broken down by the personal characteristics of sex, age and origin. The data comes from the Permanent Research Living Situation (POLS, 2003-2009), the module Voluntary Work and Social Cohesion (V & S, 2010 old method), the Social Cohesion and Welfare study (2010 new method, 2012) and the Social Statistical File (SSB). SSB data on the socio-economic category and main household income source of the year concerned have been added to POLS 2003 to 2009. As no SSB data from the relevant reporting year are available from 2010 at the time of publication, SSB data from the previous year have been used. Data available from 2003 to 2012. Status of the figures: The data is final. Amendments as of 16 January 2015 None, this table has been discontinued. changes as of 16-12-2013: In 2010, there was a redesign of the study. As a result, the figures from that year onwards are no longer entirely comparable to figures for previous years. For 2010 reporting year, figures are available on the basis of the old method and on the basis of the new method. For more information on the new observation method, see paragraph 4.
