Air quality measurements and meteorological measurements.
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality monitoring centres where background pollution, long-distance shipments of air pollutants and trends in air quality are recorded. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2018 and the development of the last 25 years. The limit values for particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide as well as for heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene were complied with at all measuring points. The burdens were below the long-term average. The target values for ozone for the protection of human health and vegetation have been exceeded at all measuring points except Vorhegg. Ozone pollution in 2018 was well above the average of recent decades. However, the information threshold was not exceeded at any measuring point.
