Protected landscape component (GLB)
Description
In Germany, a protected landscape component (GLB) is a legally binding part of nature and landscape, whose special protection is necessary for the conservation, development or restoration of the performance and functioning of the natural balance, to revitalise, structure or maintain the site or landscape, to prevent harmful effects or because of their importance as habitats of certain wild animal and plant species.
