Historical map of Lucerne (1861)
Description
The dataset contains one of a total of 10 sheets of the 'Dufourkate' of the canton of Lucerne on a scale of 1:25,000. The canton was surveyed on behalf of the cantonal government of Mohr and a map was created according to the specifications of Dufour. The measurement of the canton lasted from 1853 to 1861. This is the second edition, which differs from the first edition by the relief tone and the elevation curves. The map sheet shows the region around Lake Sempach and extends to the canton of Aargau. In the areas outside the canton of Lucerne, however, the forest signatures and elevation curves are missing. The original map was scanned and georeferenced by the AGIS coordination.
