Description

The City of Hamburg (Authority for Environment and Energy) accompanies, supports and promotes energy district concepts that illuminate measures to increase the overall energy efficiency in a district and advance them to the maturity of implementation. The goals include the advancement of energy-efficient renovation measures of buildings, the development of renewable energy sources and waste heat sources, the achievement of cost-saving effects through the participation of several actors and the stimulation of several building owners in a district for the joint implementation of energy-efficient measures. The KfW programme "Energetic urban refurbishment" promotes in-depth integrated neighbourhood concepts. In addition to the energy aspects, all other relevant urban planning, heritage conservation, building culture, housing and social aspects are considered in these district concepts. This is intended to carry out a detailed examination of technical and economic energy saving potentials in the district in order to identify concrete measures for a short-, medium- and long-term CO2 emission reduction on this basis. In addition to KfW's federal funding, the Department of Environment and Energy supports the creation of district concepts with state funding, provided that certain requirements are met. The map shows districts in Hamburg that are being or have been implemented in the course of these programs and provides information on the project status.
