WMS True Orthophoto (NLP) as of 2016
Description
The terrain model with a ground resolution of 0.4 x 0.4 m was derived from the data from the laser scan flight in spring 2015. More specifically: The terrain model is an interpolation of laser beams reflected not from vegetation (leaves, branches, trunks), but from the ground.
The false-color combination chosen here (near infrared at the position of green visible light) enables better visual differentiation of tree species and early detection of water stress in trees than a real-color representation.
True Orthophoto have the great advantage that they do not represent tree crowns - as on the usual orthophotos - tilted. When comparing several time slices, the tree tops are therefore exactly in the same position. This enables the automatic analysis of individual trees, which is necessary for the detailed monitoring of forest dynamics.
