REDIAM. WMS HIC 3290 Mediterranean rivers with intermittent flow of Paspalo-Agrostidion
Description
WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of Non-Priority Community Interest 3290 of intermittent river currents that often dry up completely in summer, sometimes leaving small waterlogged areas in the concavities of the channel, and that carry a diverse riparian vegetation, always being communities of nitrophilic amphibian grasslands of compact silts. These pastures occupy compact muddy substrates, wet in the summer season and flooded during the flooding. The renewal of these sludges is not annual or almost annual, as in the case of pioneer sludge communities present in habitat type 3270, which allows the establishment of perennial vegetation. These amphibian nitrophilous grasses are almost monospecific grasses dominated by rhizomatous and crawling grasses, such as Paspalum paspalodes and P. vaginatum. Other species sometimes present are Cyperus fuscus, Ranunculus sceleratus, Polypogon viridis, Cynodon dactylon, or some of the annual species of habitat type 3270.
