Description
Germany-wide overview of the designated national parks. National parks (§ 24 BNatSchG) are large-scale landscapes of national importance that are located in a state not or less influenced by humans in a state not or less influenced by humans, or which are capable of developing or developing into such a state. Free from using and directing man’s interventions, nature should be able to develop according to its own laws. National parks contribute to the preservation of creation and natural biodiversity and create refuges for wild plants and animals. This harmonised dataset was merged by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation from data from the federal states. An update is made annually. Since the data come from different sources and are based on different measurement standards, deviations are possible in a position and also up-to-date.
