Description
Regis II is a three-dimensional model of the well-permeable and poorly permeable layers in the subsurface, up to an average depth of about 500 m below NAP, with local outliers up to 1 200 m. Well-permeable and poorly permeable layers are mentioned in REGIS II hydrogeological units; these are layers with more or less uniform hydraulic properties. The hydrogeological units coincide with, or are part of, the lithostratigraphic units distinguished in DGM. The height of the bottom and top and the thickness of the units shall be recorded in grid files (grids) with a cell size of 100 m by 100 m. In addition to the geometric data, the model shall also include permeability data for each unit. Finally, REGIS II also contains the interpreted drilling descriptions used in making the model.
The model area of REGIS II consists of the mainland of the Netherlands. The subsoil of the Dutch part of the Continental Plate is not included in REGIS II. Regis II is a regional model. It is not suitable for use on a local scale; to create a local hydrogeological model, additional data will always be required.
