National Parks (INSPIRE Harmonised)
Description
This file contains the boundaries of the National Parks, as published at various times in the Government Gazette (last amendment: 17 December 2016, No WJZ/16102889). The file contains a total of 20 National Parks: the then Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality has designated 17 special nature reserves in the Netherlands as a national park. In addition, there are two private national parks (NP De Hoge Veluwe and NP Veluwezoom) and one border park: De Zoom – Kalmthoutse Heide. This border park has been established by the Committee of Ministers of the Benelux. The park borders are provided by the Secretaries of the National Parks and established by the Secretary of State for EZ. The boundaries in the GIS file may differ from the limits in the BIP (Management and Establishment Plan). Each National Park has a BIP, which is submitted for approval to the Minister of LNV. Each BIP contains a map with the boundary of the Park. That boundary is a snapshot. Over time, the boundaries of a Park can change light by small purchases or exchanges of land. These changes will be implemented in the BIP for periodic updates. A BIP can therefore be backward or anticipating the limits in this file.
