Topographic indices of the seabed of the mangrove areas of Europa — Project Piot
Description
Topographic indices related to the reliefs of the background were extracted from hyperspectral bathymetry on the mangrove areas of Europa.
In this area of mangrove, where the underwater terrain is low, only the two topographic indices IPM (Roughness Index) and IPV (Lange Variance Index) were calculated. They make it possible to identify areas where conditions are considered favourable to the presence of turtles. This hypothesis was based on the analysis of the data on La Réunion (CHARC program) and may or may not be confirmed later in the analysis of turtle location data.
The indices ICM (Convisability Index) and ITT (Topographic Turtles Index), not relevant here, have not been calculated.
