Rainy discharge, point of discharge and points of measurement
Description
Rain-related discharges are only used in connection with storms, as they are intended to disperse the rainwater falling on the sealed areas connected to a sewer. Rainwater is discharged from separate sewer areas where surface water is discharged in a separate line directly or via a basin to an outlet point in a water body. There are also communal sewerage areas where domestic waste water and surface water are discharged in the same pipe. But in order not to overload the treatment plants, there are overflow structures in the common systems from which a mixture of surface water and domestic wastewater is relieved when it rains too much for the treatment plant to keep up.
