Description
In order to manage the groundwater, the Flemish subsoil is divided into several three-dimensional units: groundwater bodies. Within these groundwater bodies, environmental objectives are tested and, if necessary, measures are imposed. BEVLS_A0400_1 - Oligocene Scheldt south, unsealed. Content: deposits of the Oligocene Aquifer system A0400 and of the Quartaire Aquifer systems A0100 above are not assigned to other groundwater bodies, and islands of the Kempen Aquifer system A0200. The bodies of groundwater have both a name and a code. This code starts with an abbreviation of the Member State and the Region (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Belgium, Flanders), followed by the letter "S" or "M", indicating that a groundwater body is situated in the Scheldt or Meuse river basin district (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Meuse). The numerical code refers to the HCOVv2 code, which corresponds to the main aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Kempens Aquifer system). A sequential number at the end indicates the further spatial division of the groundwater bodies into that aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = second groundwater body in the Meuse river basin district of which the Kempens Aquifer system is the most important aquifer).
