Self-employed persons; personal characteristics and industry (SBI 2008)
Description
This table contains annual figures for the population of the Netherlands working as a self-employed person as determined on the basis of integral income records. The data is special according to the type of self-employed. This is a subdivision of self-employed persons with (zmp) or without staff (self-employed persons) and family members assisting. These groups are broken down into those whose self-employment income is the main income from work (main job) or secondary income from work (even-job). For freelancers and zmp’ers, information is also available about whether they work as an independent entrepreneur, dga or ‘other’ self-employed. These figures are further broken down by different personal characteristics and the industry (SBI 2008) in which one is employed as a self-employed person.
Data available from: 2011, with the exception of educational data. These will be available from 2014.

The figures in this table are final, for the year 2021 the provisional figures are.
Amendments as of 9 November 2022:
The final figures for 2020 and provisional figures for 2021 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
The figures shall be updated by December 2023.
