Purchasing power

Purchasing power index of the 15 districts for the years from 2011, with the city of Konstanz = 100.

Data is based on the purchasing power for Germany collected annually by the GfK (Society for Consumer Research), which is calculated on a small scale for Constance. The key figure indicates how much euros a single person has available on average for consumption purposes per year. This makes it possible to make statements about the potential purchasing power of the resident population. The GfK uses wage and income tax statistics as the basis for its calculation. This is supplemented by estimates and special calculations on pensions, pensions, unemployment benefits I and II, housing, child and parental benefits as well as BAföG.

The index shows the purchasing power per inhabitant in the individual city districts in relation to the total city (=100).
