High-rise buildings (3D)

Description

In addition to the current 3D models of the buildings of the city of Zurich, this city-internal data set also includes those that are expected to be realized in the next three years and could possibly be created in the medium term. The 3D models are based on the original datasets <a href="https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/geodaten/download/Bauten___Kombinierte_Darstellung_heute" target="_blank">Buildings - Combined representation today</a>, <a href="https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/geodaten/download/Buildings___Combined_representation_short-term_future" target="_blank">Buildings - Combined representation short-term future</a>, <a href="https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/geodaten/download/Buildings___Combined_representation_medium-term_future" target="_blank">Buildings - Combined representation medium-term future</a>, which can be found in the geodata catalogue. Whether a building is a high-rise building under construction law depends on the legal basis applicable at the time of its approval. According to the version of ยง 282 Planning and Building Act currently applicable to the City of Zurich (<a href="https://www.zh.ch/en/politik-staat/gesetze-beschluesse/gesetzsammlung/zhlex-ls/erlass-700_1-1975_09_07-1976_04_01-107.html" target="_blank">PBG</a>) are high-rise buildings with a height of more than 25 m. In the present data set, the ridge height is first read out from the 3D models in an automated process. If this is larger than 25 m, the building is noted as a suspected case. If a building permit is available for a building identified in this way, the building decision is used to check whether it is a high-rise building under building law. This reconciliation takes place periodically. The data set may therefore temporarily contain unverified suspected cases that subsequently cease to be relevant. As additional information, the high-rise type is indicated, which gives more detailed information on the type of high-rise - a high-rise building according to planning and construction law ('Hochhaus PBG') and churches with a ridge height above 25m ('Hochhaus PBG / Kirche').
