Description
The grids were developed on the recommendation of 1. European workshops on reference networks of
European Environment Agency in 2003 and later on the INSPIRE Directive
fixed. The reference grids 1 km, 10 km and 100 km are located in the "Open Data Portal of the
European Union" available for download (https://open-data.europa.eu/de/data/).
The grids 100 m, 500 m and 5 km are due to technical requirements of the LUBW
in addition, the tile names correspond to the nomenclature of the
The European Environment Agency.
Important notes:
— For grid overlays please note that only the parent nodes are location-identical!
— Official EU data are available in an ETRS coordinate system with a projection (EPSG 3035) and not, like all other UIS data, in ETRS89 (EPSG 25832). As a result, the grids to UIS ETRS89 sheet cuts (e.g. DOP) are not overlapping and not perpendicular to each other!When comparing the coordinate system with EPSG code 25832 distortions arise
— The grids are primarily used in nature conservation for mapping for cell accuracy.
Please note the following information on the completeness and quality of the data provided: due to inaccuracies in the acquisition of technical objects, there are occasional non-valid geometries according to OGC Schema validation. Since GIS servers such as ArcGIS server, GeoServer or UMN MapServer have to use/process ever more accurate data bases, the inspection routine is always further developed and warns in the tolerance range as well as in the topological recording of inaccuracies (e.g. by third-party software). This means that geometries can no longer be displayed or recorded. The objected geometry errors include self-intersections (self-intersections) or double bases. Therefore, the LUBW cannot guarantee the completeness and stability of the Download Service (WFS). If necessary, please check the completeness on the basis of the presentation services also offered (WMS).
