Description
The gravity value is the amount of gravity acceleration relative to a position and height defined point. These points are mostly points of the altitude or position fixed point field. The reference framework for all gravity values in Austria is the Austrian Heavy Ground Network (ÖSGN), which consists of approximately 800 points. The level is by 42 points 0. Order determined with absolute gravity measurements (freefall gravimeters). The gravity values of orders 1 to 3 were derived from networked measurements with relative gravimeters (spring gravimeters).
In addition, there are approximately 22.000 leveling points with gravity values and a further 42.000 gravimeter points distributed over the surface. Using the digital terrain elevation model, mean gravity values along the solder line as well as Bouguer anomalies were calculated. Surface heaviness values can be interpolated from the boguer heavy field at any point.
The severity values are managed together with the leveling points in the levellement heaviness database (NSDB). The data sets contain surface gravity, coordinates and height of the reference point, further the calculated values for the mean lot line weight and the boguer weight. For ÖSGN points there are point descriptions with gravity value and geocoding.
The Austrian Gravity Map provides an overview of the gravity field in Austria in the form of Bouguer anomalies and allows conclusions about the crust structure and density distribution.
