Explosive remnants of war

Description

Locations where possible there is a chance of unexploded explosives, the so-called duds, is present. This means that further investigation for the presence of explosives is recommended at the indicated sites prior to excavation or other earth-moving operations. Subsequently, it must be shown whether an actual explosives investigation is necessary. This does not rule out the possibility that there is no risk at non-identified locations. The locations have been inventoried on the basis of extensive historical archival research. The areas are divided into four types of suspicious areas: 3. Suspected from ground level; in these areas, there was little earthmoving after the war, so that very shallow explosives can still be present. 4. Suspected from ground level and for artillery ammunition; in these areas, there was little earthmoving after the war, so that very shallow explosives can still be present. In these areas, the supervision of a CS-OOO expert is necessary to carry out soil research. 5. Suspected from 0.5 m below ground level; Relatively a lot of earthmoving has taken place in these areas, so the chance of explosives in the top half meter is zero. 6. Suspected from 0.5 m below ground level and for artillery ammunition; Relatively a lot of earthmoving has taken place in these areas, so the chance of explosives in the top half meter is zero. In these areas, the supervision of a CS-OOO expert is necessary to carry out soil research from 0.5 m below ground level.
