Petroleum raw materials balance; supply, consumption and stock, 1944-2015
Description
This table shows the supply and consumption of petroleum raw materials in balance form. Petroleum raw materials are crude oil, natural gas condensate and additives (semi-finished petrol and diesel). There are separate balances for the raw materials intended for processing in the Netherlands and the raw materials intended for transit. The difference between these two flows is that the goods intended for processing in the Netherlands have been paid import duties and not for the goods for transit.
The calculation of the offer is as follows: extraction plus production from petroleum plus other sources plus imports minus exports plus inventory change. This is equal to the amount of energy consumed in the Netherlands during the same period.
From 2007 onwards, the consumption in this table is further broken down by consumption as raw material for conversion into other petroleum products and as final consumption (after which no other energy carriers remain). For 2007, only consumption was distinguished as a raw material for conversion.
