Lengths of vision

Description

Visible length refers to the distance over which the driver of a passenger car can see without hindrance a point on the road at a height of 110 cm. The length of vision is measured at the extreme values of vision and it is assumed that the length of vision changes linearly between them. Information is generated when road projects are completed or when speed limits change. Some of the definitions are made through separate inventories. The Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment are responsible for maintaining the information. Separate measurement instructions have been given for applying for long and short vision. The measurements and the pre-processing of the results for Tiewizard are handled centrally. Views are registered only in the direction of the inventory. It is possible to obtain an estimate of the opposite direction using mathematical methods or to order a separate measurement. Main roads and regional roads are maintained comprehensively, other roads only according to the special needs of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. 2 roads are not maintained. The target category is not versionable. Covers roads.
