Description
The information contained in this data set is the positioning of the dive stations carried out during the INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0220 campaign, in the waters of the Levantine-Balearic demarcation.
It is about the representation of the spatial distribution of the points where they have made dives with autonomous diving. The sampling stations focused on the collection of volcanic rocks for further analysis, the search for areas with abundant gaseous upwelling and formation of microbial tapestries and the installation of a video system to determine the flow of gas out.
The area comprising the data provided is located in waters around the Columbretes Islands.
This information is made up of a data set made up of point elements, where each point represents the location of the dives.
The development of this set of geographical information began in 2020, thanks to the oceanographic campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0220.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
