Price indices of building production, 2000-2016

Description

CBS publishes data on construction production in value amounts. However, these value amounts do not provide an insight into the volume of construction production as they are influenced by price changes. This influence can be eliminated with the help of the Building Production Index, which is derived from the series "New Buildings; output index 2000=100’. From the 2nd quarter of 2009, the linked figures from the 2005=100 series will be used for this purpose. The building production index shows the ratio between construction production in current (current) prices and production at 2000 prices (constant prices). The methodology is unchanged when calculating the 1995 price indices to price level 2000. Changes in the evolution of the price indices of production, price level 2000 compared to the previously published index series at 1995 prices are caused by the application of the new series "Newly built housing; output index 2000=100’. The following production indices can be selected in the table: — Total new construction and other construction, — Total new construction, — New build homes — New market sector, — New budget sector, — Total other construction, — Other construction homes, — Other construction market sector, — Other construction budget sector. Data available from Q1 2000 to Q4 2016 Frequency: discontinued Status of the figures The 2016 data are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be finalised. Changes as of 29 January 2018 None, this table has been discontinued. When will there be new figures? This table is followed by Production buildings, price index 2015 = 100. See paragraph 3. Coupler advice If you want to place the results of the price indices of building production in a time series, you can link the series at 1995 and 2000 price levels. From the 2nd quarter in the series at price level 2000, the percentage trend has to be calculated compared to the 1st quarter 2005 because the price index for the 1st quarter 2005 was the last published figure in the 1995 series of prices. This trend should then be “set to” the index of the 1st quarter 2005 of the 1995 series. The price index for the 2 quarter 2005 of the coupled series is determined by determining the trend between Q1 2005 and Q2 2005 according to the 2000 price range and multiplying it by the index of the 1st quarter 2005 according to the 1995 price range. In the example: (119/120) x 148 = 147 (rounded). For the 3 rd quarter of 2005, the index is calculated according to the same line, with the change to be calculated in relation to the 1st quarter 2005 due to rounding problems.
