Grid distribution of target species of endangered fauna species in the state of Bremen
Within the framework of the integrated coverage programme “IEP” of the nature conservation authority Bremen, a uniform methodology has been used to map target species of flora and fauna at regular intervals and for defined sub-areas in Bremen since 2004.
Fauna: Selected target species of amphibians, dragonflies, grasshoppers, butterflies and beetles are recorded via a grid mapping. The aim is to obtain an overview of the distribution of species in the state of Bremen. The survey is carried out for each species by searching for a representative selection of suitable habitat structures within the grids. The evaluation is carried out only as presence-absence representation.
The grid distribution is supplemented by the evaluation of further mappings carried out within the framework of the IEP.
From this database, for the species listed in Annexes II and IV to the Habitats Directive, the distribution in a 10x10km grid was determined. The grid used corresponds to the requirements of the EU for reporting on the Habitats Directive.
