Waiting in long-term care; sector, quarter
Description
The table contains quarterly figures on the number of people waiting (shorter and longer than the Treek standard) for long-term care (both inpatient and outpatient) under the Long-term Care Act (WLZ) with and without bridging care. The figures are measured quarterly on the first day of January, April, July and October and are available for the nursing and care, disability and mental health sectors. The figures refer to care in kind, not care paid for from personal budgets.
The figures are broken down by waiting status. Clients with a Wlz indication are registered until 2021 in the categories active waiting and non-active waiting. As of 2021, the new waiting statuses are active places and urgent places entered, in addition, the waiting status inactive waiting is replaced by the waiting for preference status. There is a temporary transitional situation in the spring of 2021, in which shifts from old to new waiting statuses can still take place.
The figures in this table are also broken down by care-gravity package (ZZP).
The figures in this table are taken from the Waiting Lists Wlz (Information Standard for the Long-Term Care Act or iWlz) provided by care offices to the Zorginstituut Nederland (ZiNL).
Due to the introduction of the new release of messaging (iWlz 2.0), no data on active waiters (shorter than Treeknorm) with reference date 1 April 2018 have been included, and the figures on active (shorter and longer than Treeknorm) and inactive waiters with reference date 1 July 2018 are missing. Due to new connections to administrations, waiting list figures on 1 October may differ from the figures with reference date 1 April 2018.

Status of figures:
The quarterly figures for the most recent reporting year are provisional. The remaining quarterly figures are final. When the first quarter of a new reporting year is published, the figures for all previous quarters become final.

Provisional figures for Q2 2024 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
The provisional figures on reference date 1 July 2024 will be published in the 3rd quarter of 2024.
