Primary income per capita

Description

Disposable income per capita (and the secondary indicator “primary income per capita”) is calculated on the basis of the sum of household income divided by the number of inhabitants. “Primary” household income is composed of compensation of employees and income of the self-employed, to which are added income from the rental of buildings (actual rents or imputed to owner-occupiers) and movable income (difference between investment income and interest on loans). To move from primary income to “pocket” or “available” income of households, it is still necessary to take into account current transfers, i.e. payments between households on the one hand and, mainly, the State on the other (income taxes, social contributions, social benefits, etc.).
