Woody

Description

Although the city of Vienna looks after around 120,000 trees, many people lack a connection to nature in the urban environment. Woody is an app that creates an awareness for the Viennese trees in a playful way. The goal of the app is to supply the small woodworm called Woody with wood. The special thing about it is that you have to be physically in front of a real tree to get the food in different ways: Cut down a tree and secure wood supplies or rather leave Woody on the tree for a harmless snack? Together with a map and ‘Baumpedia’, this app is an educationally valuable and very entertaining game for all ages. This project was developed as part of a course of the INSO research group () at TU Wien. \*\*\*\* ONLY IN VIENNA \*\*\*\* Requirements: * Operating system: Google Android version 2.3.3 and higher * Sensors: Motion sensor, GPS receiver * Storage space: approx. 20 MB * Internet connection: Wireless or data transmission from the network provider
