Sub-basins of river sections classified according to modified Pfafstetter
Description
Sub-basins of river sections, generated from cell MDT 25 x 25 (CEDEX).
The sub-basins obtained have been classified according to the modified Pfafstetter methodology based on the one used in the classification of sections of rivers in Spain (hydrographic classification).
Geographic information is polygonal from sub-watersheds to stretches of rivers, endorheic basins (watersheds that do not discharge into the sea), inter-watersheds (coastal basins between river mouths) and related data.
The methodology applied to obtain this information and its application for the hydrographic classification of rivers in Spain according to the Pfafstetter method has been developed by CEDEX. The detailed information is contained in Monograph M-133 ‘Hydrographic Classification of the Rivers of Spain’, published by the Publications Centre of the Technical Secretariat-General. Ministry of Public Works.
The sub-basin slopes are consistent with the geographical information of ‘Rivers classified in Spain according to the modified Otto Pfafstetter method’ (one sub-basin per tranche), with the drainage address map (MDD) and the cumulative area map in each 25x25 metre cell (MAF).
