Description
According to Section 12 of the Forestry Act, forest is considered a protected forest when it serves as protection for other forests or provides protection against natural damage. The same applies to areas up to the mountain or out towards the sea where the forest is vulnerable and can be destroyed by improper forest treatment.
It is the State Administrator’s agricultural department that is responsible for mapping the conservation forest boundaries. Vernskog is collected and available for the areas where data has been submitted digitally by the State Administrator’s Agriculture Department.
