Ground map of Lower Saxony 1 : 50 000 - Site-dependent compaction sensitivity
Description
According to § 17 of the Federal Soil Protection Act, soil compaction caused by humans is one of the harmful soil changes. The ‘Location-dependent compaction sensitivity’ (VDST) map shows the potential compaction sensitivity of the soil influenced by texture, storage and humus content when driving on heavy agricultural or construction machinery, extended by location factors such as soil moisture (soil moisture level), solidifications and skeletal content. The VDST is presented in 7 steps.
