Description

REDIAM. WMS service of the Map of landscapes of Andalusia where the areas, areas and landscape categories are represented. The landscape map of Andalusia is composed of two levels: the categories, areas and landscape areas shown in this service and, at a second level, the physionomic units, which can be viewed through a separate mapping service. The 6 landscape categories are based on interpretation of a mosaic of satellite images, and respond to large sets of morphology and land uses that connect with the types of landscape contemplated for Europe in the Dobris Report of the European Environment Agency (year 1995). Its representation on the map is made through plots of different shape and color for each of the landscape categories. The categories are divided into 19 landscape areas, which mark transitions between categories or geographical situations that give morphological imprints, plant cover or land use to these areas. In this map they have been represented by different solid color plots. For the definition of the 81 landscape areas, an interpretation of satellite images at 1:100,000 scale has been used again, this time combining observation criteria in the interpretation (such as homogeneity of colors, textures and structures) and others that are linked to sociocultural aspects and spatial planning, so that their limits correspond to physical-cultural realities and whose cartographic representation is made on the map by means of a black line.
