Frisian Archaeological Monument Map Extra (FAMKE) - Determining Village Core
Description
In the current version of the Frisian Archaeological Monument Map Extra (FAMKE), AMK sites that concern a village centre, and whose boundaries are still uncertain, are included as symbols. The boundaries of the sites will be included in the FAMKE in the coming period. If a planned intervention or new zoning plan includes this symbol or is located in its vicinity, it is advisable to ask the provincial archaeologist for the exact boundaries of such a site. The province also advises in the case of these village centres in accordance with the ‘ordinary’ AMK sites.
