The static theme. Displays data for the 2021 revised Natura 2000 baseline analysis 2022-2027 underlying the 2022 consultation of the Natura 2000 plans 2022-2027.
The theme shows position data for fishing vessels with non-bottom contacting gear within Natura 2000 areas. Position data for fishing vessels with non-bottom contacting gears have been compiled for vessels with gillnets in the period 2013-2018. The potential fishery is shown on the map with VMS (Vessel Monitoring System) data. VMS data appear less frequently on the map than AIS (Automatic Identification System) data, as these only need to be sent once an hour from vessels over 12 metres. The points shown are for a given speed of the vessel at which it is assumed the fishing can take place.
