ICEARAGON Geographical Names Web Service (WFS-G)
Description
The Gazetteer Web Service (WFS-G) is defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) as a special case of the WFS service in which the criteria for locating spatial information are given by textual searches based on geographical names. The WFS-G service is the service that operates the Geographical Nomenclature of Aragon and offers the possibility of locating a geographical name. It admits as input the name of an entity (geographic name) and returns its location by means of coordinates. Additionally, the query by name allows you to set other criteria such as the spatial extent in which you want to search or the type of phenomenon. The Government of Aragon implements this service through Deegree.
The standard defines three operations: GetCapabilities, GetFeature and DescribeFeatureType.
