JHS 201 Metadata of register data
Description
The Recommendation defines common metadata for describing public administration registers and their content. These metadata consist of metadata describing the register as a whole and variable-level metadata in registers. The metadata also includes information describing the quality of the data contained in the registers and its publicity. The purpose of the Recommendation is to establish a consistent practice for the description of the register and to contribute to supporting the management of the data life cycle. The metadata model supports the controller in complying with regulations and their obligations. Uniform metadata facilitates and enhances the utilisation of once-collected data in the activities of other authorities and other further use, and helps to keep the data comprehensible also for permanent storage.
