Potentially available beach zone 2017-2023
Description
Potentially available beach zone areas in the coastal zone are calculated on the basis of terrain, road sections, railway sections, cultivated land areas, buildings and coastline. Annual data set from 2017 onwards. The data are collected from various sources and processed into land-use surfaces in Statistics Norway. The surfaces that are not affected by technical interventions are considered potentially available for outdoor activities. The various surfaces also contain properties that refer to slope: small slope < 3, some slope 3-10, large slope 10-25 and very large slope > 25 degrees.
Potentially available beach zone areas are geographical areas that have a dynamic demarcation, and the number of flat objects and their outer boundaries will change over time depending on building activity.
Flat objects are delimited independently of the administrative boundaries.
