European Water Framework Directive (EC-WFD): Surface water bodies (OWK), management cycle 2009-2015
Description
The maps contain administrative statements on surface water bodies relevant to WFD (flowing waters with catchment area > 10 km², standing water > 50 ha) in the Free State of Thuringia.
As part of the necessary cross-border and transnational management, Thuringia has a share in two international river basin districts (Elbe and Rhine) as well as in the national river basin district Weser.
Information on the affiliations of surface water bodies is shown in the following maps:
— OEK River Basin Units
— OWK planning units
— OWK-competent federal state
The data is used to provide general information to the public about the belongings of the WFD-relevant surface water bodies in Thuringia.
