Ortho-image of the National Land Survey of Finland

Description

The ortho-photos of the National Land Survey of Finland are aerial photographs that cover the whole country. An ortho-image is a combination of individual aerial photographs. The ortho-image corresponds to the geometry of the map.

Ortho-photos are updated every 3 years, except in Upper Lapland every 12 years.

Ortho-photo aerial photographic material is available
- as the most up-to-date material, consisting of the latest available aerial photographs of the object. The most up-to-date dataset is usually 1-3 years old.
- historical aerial photographs, consisting of aerial photographs older than up-to-date material. Historical aerial photographs are available since the 1930s. The material is constantly being supplemented.

The following product versions of ortho-photos are available:
- Orthophotograph
- Ortho-image, false colour
- Orthophotograph, forest orphan
- Orthophotograph, natural disaster

In addition, a year-index map for Ortho-photos is available, which shows the year in which the latest ortho-photos were photographed in that box.

The product is open data.
